Guatemala: Prime Topics begins its rambutan season

Prime Tropics, a producer and exporter of rambutan from Guatemala, began harvesting its rambutan and other exotic fruits this week.

Mauro Suazo, from Suazo Agro International, Pompano Beach, Florida, recently visited Prime Tropics's plantations and packing plants, where he was able to verify the company's excellent quality and abundant fruit production that is ready to be harvested and shipped to North America, the United Kingdom and Europe.
Mr. Suazo acts as a marketing liaison between Prime Tropics and its clients in new markets.

"The interest and acceptance of our offer is very satisfactory," said Suazo. The Quintanal family, which owns Prime Tropics and is also dedicated to the planting of rubber trees and other exotic fruit trees (mangosteen, achachas, finger limes and passion fruit, among others), is fully committed to having one of the best exotic fruit production operations in Guatemala, Suazo said.

"The season started in week 21 and it will continue with significant volumes and quality until well into weeks 36-37, when other domestic producers and producers from Honduras start their harvests and continue supplying international markets."
