UAE tightens controls on Turkish fruit imports

The United Arab Emirates have tightened controls on fruit imports from Turkey. In particular grapefruit, pomegranates and lemons among other products.

For this reason, all fresh fruits from Turkey must be endowed with a certificate of analysis ratified by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Livestock, specifying that the imported products do not exceed the permitted residue levels.

This reflects the importance given by the United Arab Emirates authorities to the importation of products without too much residue. This measure will not only apply to fruits imported from Turkey but also to those imported from Egypt, Jordan, Yemen, Oman and Libya.
