The asparagus of Tudela de Duero already has a certification mark that guarantees the quality for their promotion, both in the domestic and international markets. The Aspáragus Association, together with the City Council, organised an event on Monday in which the mark was officially presented and where the product's many culinary uses were showcased.
Professional chefs as reputable as Luis Alberto Lera, of the restaurant Lera of Castroverde de Campos; Alfonso Fierro, of the Estrella del Bajo Carrión in Villoldo, Palencia; Víctor Martín, of the Trigo restaurant in Valladolid; Yolanda León and Juanjo Pérez, of Cocisnandos, from León; and Isabel Curiel, president of the Entretantas Association, participated in a round table, where they highlighted the qualities of Tudela asparagus, which have managed to conquer the most demanding palates.
With some 20 hectares covered by the Certification Mark and two products included in it, Tudela is now committed to increasing production by offering new land suitable for this crop, whose cultivation will start next October.
Meanwhile, the municipality is immersed in the scheduling of activities to promote the product in May, including a tapas route and musical and sporting activities.
