Five tonnes of eryngii for European market per day

Green Mushroom lays foundation stone for German eryngii nursery

“In the past ten years, Green Mushroom has developed into being one of the market leaders in the field of fresh, edible, wild and grown mushrooms. Due to our extensive global network, we can supply quality and quantity year-round. The most recent development is starting the nurseries in Europe, using a technique developed in South Korea,” says manager Sami Bahtiri from Green Mushroom Farm.

The above picture was taken in February 2017, and shows the laying of the foundation stone of the modern eryngii nursery in Europe in Torgau, Germany. Mid-September 2018, five tonnes of eryngii will find its way to the European market every day. The decision to also start preparing building plans for this fully automatic bottle cultivation in the Netherlands and Belgium was partly decided on by Green Mushroom Farm and its partners due to increasing demand for locally grown mushrooms.

After being introduced during the Fruit Logistica in Berlin, the brand ‘STARCHAMPS’ will be used to familiarise consumers with the importance of vegetable proteins on their plates as well.
