Morrisons offers wonky asparagus at discounted price

Thanks to Morrison's consumers may find asparagus to be a bit more affordable this year. The supermarket chain is offering wonky asparagus at discount prices to those who don't care for looks.

Morrisons has introduced 'wonky' asparagus costing just £1 for 180g as a budget alternative to the upright variety which is one of Britain's most expensive vegetables

The bend in the vegetable is due to the warm spring we've been experiencing, which has encouraged asparagus shoots - which typically grow from late April until the summer solstice - to pop up early.
