Russia: 22 tonnes of produce returned to China

The Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) did not grant permission to the province of Primorsky Krai to import a large consignment of fruit & veg from China, allegedly due to the provision of invalid documents, reports PRIMPRESS, citing an official press service.

"Over 22 tonnes of fruit and vegetable products from China have not been allowed to be imported and distributed in Primorsky Krai due to a failure to meet the phytosanitary requirements of the Eurasian Economic Union," said the press service of the Rosselkhoznadzor office for the Primorsky Territory and Sakhalin region.

"The quantity of products indicated in the phytosanitary certificate did not match the one indicated in the shipping documents," specified the statement.

The entity noted that the consignment would be returned to China.
