Belarus and Georgia aim to increase bilateral trade
Belarus is ready to provide Georgian companies with the most favourable business conditions, as stated by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, after meeting with the President of Georgia, Giorgi Margvelashvili.
Lukashenko reaffirmed that the countries have agreed to increase trade turnover to $200 million, having "already reached 100 million, so we are more than halfway there," he stated.
He noted that Belarus and Georgia have common interests in the supply of equipment from Belarus to Georgia, and "in the import of vegetables, fruits, wine and other products from Georgia to Belarus."
For his part, Margvelashvili noted that Belarus and Georgia are a perfect example of "two countries which have chosen different paths, but which can work together without irregularities and conflicts."
After the talks, President Lukashenko and President Margvelashvili spoke in a joint statement about the mutual interest of their countries in strengthening bilateral cooperation at all levels and in all spheres of mutual interest.
The meeting of the two leaders also resulted in the signing of an agreement regarding the promotion and mutual protection of both countries' investments.
