China: Cabbage prices fall 50%

In 2016, cabbage prices held up well throughout the year but, up until the Spring Festival, some cabbage growers were finding stockpiled cabbage difficult to shift. Post-festival, the market has slowed down again and prices have fallen markedly. Mild winter temperatures and an abundant supply of other winter vegetable production has impacted both sales and prices. Prices are predicted to continue their decline for the first half of 2017.
