Syria and Russia aim to increase bilateral trade
The Syrian Republic plans to export fruit, vegetables, textiles and other products to Russia and in return expects petrochemicals and fertilisers, as reported by the Syrian Industry Minister, Ahmed al-Hama.
He said that right now they are working to establish trade links with Russia. "At this stage, both parties have signed an agreement for the effective cooperation in energy, irrigation, agriculture, industry, transport, oil and trade," added the minister.
Al-Hama believes that "these agreements will help create favourable conditions for producers from the tax authorities, customs and banks for the easy execution of payments," he said.
"To develop the relevant laws, regulations and programs, meetings have been held with our Russian counterparts, given the sincere relations between the two countries in the fight against terrorism," concluded the minister.
