Pakistan government to hold citrus promotional campaign in Jeddah

The commercial section of the Consulate General of Pakistan in Jeddah is organizing a one-week event which looks to promote their citrus in Jeddah.

The consulate is promoting this prime fruit of Pakistan in the Saudi market. The campaign aims to highlight the uniqueness of the “Kinnow Pakistani” range as the non-genetically modified version of citrus varieties.

Apart from witnessing an impressive display of the Kinnow (Citrus reticulata) at the inaugural event on Feb. 2, visitors can also taste some slices of the fruit. For the rest of week, all Manuel stores in Jeddah will display and sell Kinnow at promotional rates.

The Manuel store — a high-end supermarket in Jeddah — has been selected for the promotional week.

Pakistan is the sixth largest producer of Kinnow and oranges in the world.
It is estimated that around 95 percent of the kinnow produced in the world is grown in Pakistan.
