Jordan aims for boost of agricultural exports to Austria
The Jordanian Minister of Agriculture, Khalid Hnaifat, held a number of meetings last week with several major Austrian companies devoted to the import of vegetables to learn about the necessary requirements to ship to the Austrian market.
Hnaifat said that the government is working to facilitate the transportation of Jordanian products by air or sea, adding that this year we should see an increase in the country's exports.
The Minister of Agriculture also said that they aim to cooperate with foreign companies in order to put an end to the bottlenecks in the marketing and open new export markets, such as the Austrian market, noting that Jordanian farms are ready to meet the Austrian market requirements, as well as the specific needs of all companies wishing to import.
The visit to Austria was organised in partnership with the Jordanian Association of Exporters of fruits and vegetables and the Amman Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Jordanian embassy in Austria.
