CEPEX adds 33% cost deduction to Tunisian citrus transport

The Export Promotion Centre (CEPEX) has decided on a 33% automatic deduction on the cost of transporting Tunisian citrus fruit on the new shipping line from Sfax to Novorossiysk in Russia, following a request from Gifruits (Inter-professional Group of Fruits).

In order to make the line profitable, CEPEX adapted its subsidy system accordingly, by operating the Foprodex (Export Promotion Fund) to grant significant and specific financial advantages in order to stimulate export of products from the countryside (tomatoes, potatoes, etc.).

An exclusive rate of 50% on the cost of maritime and multimodal freight was decreed at a national commission in August last year at the Exporter House.

Foprodex grants an average of 400 to 500 thousand dinars per year for the citrus sector as direct support for exports in order to preserve the competitiveness of these products on foreign markets.
