Study shows Finns to increase vegetable consumption

Kesko, a retailer, has released a study on future purchasing trends of Finnish consumers and unearthed some interesting discoveries. According to the study many people in Finland are looking to improve their eating habits in the near future.

Increased vegetable purchases are likely, the study found, while vegetable-based protein products will also remain popular.

More than half of respondents (57%) plan to eat more fruit and vegetables next year. Some 51% of Finnish people say they will buy more berries.

Just over two fifths (43%) said they were eager to eat better on weekdays. In addition, 47% of respondents said that they are trying to reduce food wastage.

The data for the Kesko Food Trends study was collected from Kesko's Plussa database in October, and 1,111 people responded to the survey. The study showed a positive trend in the country to promote healthier living through better diets.
