Can you taste garlic with your feet?

Garlic has a reputation for having a strong taste and smell. It has been known to cause bad breath around the world and has ruined many first kisses. But did you know that you can taste garlic through your feet? A video published by the American Chemical Society shows how this works. It explains that garlic contains a chemical called allicin which passes through your skin and travels through the bloodstream and eventually reaches your mouth and nose, causing the taste and smell.

If you want to test the effect yourself, you simply have to cut an onion in half and place it in a bag. Make sure you are in a separate room, free of lingering garlic smells, and proceed to place your foot in the bag. After this, begin to rub the garlic on the bottom of your foot. About an hour after doing so you should begin to smell and taste garlic. So now, not only can garlic give you bad breath, but smelly feet too.
