Google launches Doodle Fruit Games in honour of Olympics

To mark the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Rio on August 5, Google launched the 2016 Doodle Fruit Games, a mobile game for Android and iOS.

Google Doodle appears on most web browsers around the world to celebrate the Olympics in Rio and shows a video of Minion-like versions of Brazil’s main fruit exports, such as pineapples, bananas, watermelons, coconuts, and strawberries, engaged in all kinds of sporting battles, from running to tennis and cycling.

It brings you to Google’s main page for the Olympics, which gives you a load of useful information, such as upcoming fixtures and a dashboard that contains the schedule, different sports, information on various athletes, medals won and country profiles.

However, for mobile users, there is an extra treat in the form of a mobile game called the 2016 Doodle Fruit Games that sees the freshest fruit from Rio compete in a range of sports on a daily basis.

To play along, get the latest Google app on Android or iOS, and tap the Doodle. Learn more at g.co/fruit and let the games begin!
