Fresón de Palos' goals for the coming years are "to consolidate our leadership as a specialist in strawberries, as well as the gradual launch of new products, such as blueberries and raspberries, which will gain relevance in the coming seasons," affirms the Marketing Manager of Fresón de Palos, Jaime Zaforas, in a statement to infoRETAIL.
The executive also notes that "while the strawberries are mostly marketed overseas, the Spanish market is still highly important for Fresón de Pelos, with a share of over 25%, according to Nielsen." He also highlights that it is "the most renowned brand amongst consumers."
In recent months, Fresón de Palos has launched several innovative products, such as ice cream in partnership with Bornay and jam together with Hero; "innovation aimed at improving the quality, expanding the range and facilitating consumption. We are working every day to continue adapting and offering satisfactory solutions," states Jaime Zaforas.
According to data from Freshuelva, the total strawberry production during the 2015 campaign has grown by 3%. "This is a mature market that has continued growing for the past thirty years," says Zaforas, who expects an "on-going consolidation of our product in the short term, with sustained growth both in Spain and in Europe."
