NZ: 225 kiwifruit growers join class action

More than 220 Kiwifruit growers affected by the devastating PSA vine disease have joined a class action lawsuit against the Government.

Growers affected by the virus had until 5pm to join The Kiwifruit Claim, which says the Government let in a shipment of flower anthers from a PSA-ravaged part of China.

The group of 225 represents 45 percent of the gold industry and 15 percent of the green industry, and is likely to seek damages of over $300 million.
