Batch of Turkish tomatoes rejected by Russia

According to the newspaper Zaman, a shipment with tonnes of Turkish tomatoes was rejected by Russia because of the alleged presence of pesticide residues and pests.

In this regard, consumer organisations expressed their concerns about the fact that the tomatoes may have been channelled back to the Turkish market; something which the President of the Association of Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters of Turkey has been quick to deny.
