Intermarché launches online store in Portugal
Intermarché created the 'Drive' service so that customers receive the purchases from the selected store without leaving the car.
The goal, says the company, is to ensure proximity, making the purchasing process easier, faster and convenient for Portuguese consumers.
Initially, the e-commerce service will be tested in the Lagoa Carvoeiro shop, in the Algarve, before expanding to other parts of the country throughout 2015.
Intermarché is currently present in 18 districts and 278 municipalities in Portugal.
In its home market, France, the retailer has about 1,000 Intermarché stores that provide the Drive service, which saw an annual growth of approximately 20%. Last year, Intermarché expanded the service to over 203 stores in France.
