Lidl invested 150 million Euro in Canary Islands over five years

Lidl is still on the road to expansion with the Canary Islands, reports website kanarenmarkt.de. The management announced that they are building a new store in Tias on Lanzarote at the moment. This store will be ready at the start of 2016. In the past five years the chain has opened twenty stores on the Canary Islands and invested over 150 million Euro.

Lidl's first store on the Canary Islands was opened in February 2010 in Puerto de la Cruz on Tenerife. Then other stores followed on Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerteventure and La Palm. There are over 600 employees in stores on these islands at the moment. The stores receive fresh wares every day from the logistics centres on Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
