Hungary: Auchan introduces special shopping carts
Auchan has announced the introduction of specifically designed shopping carts to all Hungarian stores. The development of the shopping carts was motivated by the proposal of a father, whose daughter has Angelman syndrome.
In addition to the youngsters with Angelman Syndrome, the project can bring a serious change in the lives of young people with Down syndrome, autism, learning difficulties and physical disabilities, providing a solution for tens of thousands of families.
The special carts will be available in every store within two weeks.
Additionally, a modern electric moped is being tested at the store in Budaorsi, which will provide a solution for the elderly, overweight people, or pregnant women.
Auchan aims for people with disabilities and their families to have the most comfortable experience in their stores, which are already equipped with wheelchair access, wider corridors and entrance gates, low fruit and vegetable scales, as well as a greater number of disabled parking spaces. The blind and partially sighted people also have the option to ask for help at store entrances.
