France: Carrefour confirm Lavinay will lead Erteco
Lavinay, 53, began his career in retail in Euromarché in 1980 and ascended the ranks of the chain, which was assumed by Carrefour in 1991.
As was demonstrated during his tenure in Carrefour Greece, Lavinay has a powerful aptitude for logistics: after spending his time as executive director of Carrefour Chile, he was recalled by Europe's largest retailer to his native France in order to become the director of supply chain operations.
In 2008 it named him director of supermarkets for France; a year after, he joined Carrefour Belgium as executive director and administrator, as it was regarded by the retailer's headoffice at this time to be underperforming.
In October of last year Georges Plassat delegated him with the handling of Carrefour's operations in Poland, Romania and Belgium.
