CR Vanguard - Tesco integration begins in China

Tesco stores in China have started to close in preparation for integration with CR Vanguard, China's second largest grocery operator.

Vanguard seeking to 'improve performance' by March 2015
To date the integration plan has been largely behind the scenes with a focus on data sharing. This is taking place at a regional level with a target completion date of early December. In an integration plan issued by CRV in May, it said that it hopes to realise the benefits of integration in Tesco store performance by March 2015. We expect this to be in the form of more tailored ranges and sharper pricing.

The first sign of integration came to stores in September when CR Vanguard started to carry Tesco branded products. There are plans for more than 700 Tesco private label SKUs to be listed by the end of 2014.
