Russia: X5 Retail Group purchased Agrotorg Samara

X5 Retail Group, one of the leading food retailers in Russia, acquired 100% of the company Agrotorg Samara.
 
Agrotorg Samara, founded in 2004, previously worked with the X5 in commercial concession agreement. The network currently has 116 stores in Samara and Samara region with total sales area of 36,000 square metres. During the first six months of 2014 the revenues amounted to 3 billion roubles (59 million Euro).

The acquired stores will join the network Pyaterochka, which consists of 168 stores opened by the X5 in the Samara region earlier. It is to note that X5 also has sixteen Perekrestok supermarkets and five Karusel hypermarkets in this region.
 
X5 Retail Group was founded in May 2006. As of 30 June, 2014, the company runs 4779 stores. X5 shareholders are Alfa Group with 47.86%, the founders of Pyaterochka with 16.35%, and the Director of X5 with 0.02%. Treasury stock accounts for 0.07%; 35.7% of the shares are in free float.
