Russia: First SPAR stores to open in Altai
It will be an "Express" store, which is according to the retailer’s classification a quick-service shop with sales area from 100 to 200 square meters.
The second SPAR is to follow in December 2014, in Barnaul. This one, however, will be a "EUROSPAR" with sales area from 1000 to 3000 sq.m.
The license obtained implies not only the right to open SPAR stores, but also to brand SPAR products, such as cereals, canned food, spices, chocolate.
SPAR International comprises over 15000 stores in 34 countries around the world (mainly Europe, but also South Africa, Australia, Argentina). The total turnover equals more than 27 billion Euro per year. SPAR is the largest retailer in the world. The Russian part of the network consists of more than 300 stores in many cities around the country.
