The French group Carrefour has launched its Express format in Brazil with the opening of its first store in the city of São Paulo. This new model of proximity, which was already operating in countries like Spain, Argentina or France, lands in the Brazilian market.
This first Carrefour Express Brazil has a 250 square meters big showroom and is located in the Tatuapé neighbourhood of São Paulo.
"With this launch, Carrefour takes another step in the direction of growth in Brazil, which is already the group's second largest market in operations," stated Charles Desmartis, CEO of Carrefour Group in Brazil.
"Our strategy is to invest in multi-format solutions that address the different demands of Brazilian consumers," added Desmartis. Currently, the Carrefour group has more than 5,800 Express outlets worldwide, distributed in over ten countries.
