Armenia increases export of fruit and vegetables



As of 25 June, Armenia's fresh produce export volumes this year amount to more than 24,700 tonnes, as announced by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Robert Makaryan. 

"Last year, the figure for the same period amounted to about 19,600 tonnes," said the Deputy Minister. 

R. Makaryan noted that the total volume of exports corresponded to about 2,600 tonnes of grapes, 339 tonnes of cherries, 18,400 tonnes of potatoes, 1,500 tonnes of cauliflower, 650 tonnes of beets and radishes and 188 tonnes of carrots. 

The main destinations for these exports were Georgia, Russia, Iraq, UAE and Kuwait.
