Lidl builds third Austrian DC in Wundschuh

Lidl Austria is building a newlogistics center for South Austria in Wundschuh, south of Graz. This will bethe third Lidl logistics center in Austria, reports the ‘Tiroler Tageszeitung’on their website. Last Tuesday was the induction ceremony during which the companyannounced that almost 60 million euros would be invested in the new center andthat 150 to 200 jobs would be created.

According to the companythis will be the most modern and sustainable Lidl warehouse in Europe, whichwill supplement the two current Austrian distribution centers in Laakirchen andMüllendorf. The new logistics center, with an assortment of more than 1,400articles, will be a base for further expansion of the branch.

According to the plans,the new logistics center will be ready in the autumn of 2015. From here 60 new branches in Steiermark, Kärnten andSüdburgenland will be supplied.
