Aldi Süd to sell only Fairtrade bananas licensed by TransFair

Fairtrade bananas licensed by TransFair eV will soon become part of the standard range at all affiliates of the German supermarket chain Aldi Süd; until now, the stores offered a range of organic bananas and Fairtrade bananas, but now only the latter, certified by TransFair, will be sold. This was announced by the company on Wednesday, 7 May in a press statement.

The certified products can be identified by the official Fairtrade logo. Aldi Süd, jointly with TransFair eV, also aims to expand the range of sustainable and ethically produced food. Fairtrade-certified juice and nectar, tea, honey, bananas and chocolate, among other products, will gradually become available from May in all Aldi Süd stores.
