Start of Chile season at Kloosterboer Vlissingen, NL

The first reefer vessel with fresh fruit from Chile will be unloaded at Kloosterboer, Vlissingen. M.V. on Saturday 29th March. “Elsebeth” carries a total of 3,400 pallets on board which are destined for the European market.

2,400 Pallets, mainly grapes, plums and nectarines, are loaded in break-bulk as well as in containers in Chile. The vessel has loaded an extra 1,000 pallets of bananas, mangos and asparagus in Peru.

Kloosterboer expects to receive a total of 3 or 4 vessels. This is significantly less than previous years. The reason for this are the bad weather conditions (frost and drought) that the exporters in Chile have been facing this year.
