The President of Galicia's Government visited Kiwi Atlántico's facilities in Ribadumia accompanied by the president of the company, José Pérez Expósito, local authorities and the brand manager, Carlos Vila.
Kiwi Atlántico was founded in 1988 from the union of 30 kiwi producers from the Spanish regions of Galicia and Asturias and currently has more than 70 partners and 20 associated producers. The society is formed exclusively by producers with a long agricultural tradition.
Producing the fruit in Spain distinguishes this brand from other domestic kiwi distributors. The company has already trusted in the quality of the country's local production for 25 years.
New projectsThe Spanish kiwi brand, Kiwi Atlántico, recently presented "Kiwi Atlántico Etiqueta Negra" ("Black label") at Madrid's Fruit Attraction; a kiwi with an extraordinary texture, colour and flavour. The product is intended for the gourmet market and is ideal for enthusiasts of delicatessen fruits.
Kiwi Atlántico applies a strict monitoring to its products, including exhaustive analyses carried out by means of laser measuring and NIR systems, which are able to indicate the fruit's Brix, firmness and dry matter without damaging it.
Over the past three years, Kiwi Atlántico has developed multiple research projects to select, from the above mentioned parameters, the fruit that best meets consumer needs in terms of organoleptic qualities, flavour and firmness.
