Retailer Aeon donates 10 million yen to typhoon-hit Philippines

Aeon Co. donated 10 million yen on Monday for victims of the powerful Typhoon Haiyan that struck the central Philippines this past weekend, the Japanese supermarket chain operator said.

Aeon offered the money through the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo so that it will be used for restoring devastated infrastructure and disaster victim relief.

In the Philippines, the Aeon group operates Aeon Financial Service Co. and Robinsons convenience stores through its affiliated Ministop Co.
