Uruguay: Price of tangerines fell while apples remained constant

In the last 15 days tangerines entering the Mercado Modelo doubled, thus the price fell. There was a strong improvement in the fruit's quality, mainly in terms of the percentage of sugar.

The price of the kilo of tangerine fell 9.1% in the last week and is around $9 and $10, at the wholesale price, as was reported yesterday from the Mercado Modelo.

In the case of apples, prices remained stable, although the high income of bad quality product is giving way for the prices to come down.

Apples prices remain between $24 and $25 per kilo.

There is a flexible placement in the case of the pear and prices changed slightly to the rise, especially for batches of a large calibre and superior quality.

The reference price for the pear rose by 9.4% and is now between $ 32 and $ 35 per kilo.

The quality of supply of grapes has had some problems associated with prolonged shelf life.

Finally, grape prices increased by 12.5% and now range from $ 40 to $ 45 per kilo.
