Cold weather in Florida last week has damaged portions of this year's crop. As a result, yields will likely be down.Though last week's frost didn't affect all growers equally, it hit enough of the state's green bean supplies that yields will be affected, said Pioneer Growers' Jon Browder.
“We had a freeze down here, but we had minimal losses,” he said. But he added that, before the frost, they experienced some rain that will space out their green bean volumes.
“We'll have a gap of about three weeks, then we'll have steady volume,” said Browder.
