First ever supermarket brand in Australia returns

"AU: Metcash brings back "No Frills"

Metcash has re-launched the ‘No Frills’ brand in Australia, and is stocking such products at its Supa IGA stores. No Frills was originally launched in 1978 by the Franklins chain (acquired by Metcash), and was the first generic supermarket brand in Australia.

The re-launched range will be packaged in its iconic black and white packaging, but now offers more products. The launch is being accompanied by a major advertising campaign, through print, radio and online.

Metcash noted: "With the rises in day to day expenses, customers are looking for great value items to complement their family’s weekly grocery needs and No Frills is the perfect accompaniment to the fresh and locally sourced products available at SUPA IGA stores."
