India: Indo-Israel collaboration aids diversification

The Punjab government is setting up two Centres of Excellence for vegetables and citrus under an Indo-Israel work plan. The centres wil be operations by March next year.

The centres were announced by the Punjab Chief Minister, Parkash Singh Badal at a meeting with the Ambassador of Israel, Alon Ushpiz.

Punjab is already a major contributor of grains, but the Israeli collaboration will help the state to diversify. Experts in the agricultural sector from Israel will provide training and knowledge to assist grower's in the region.
