China: Asian Citrus Holdings says Typhoon has not damaged oranges

Asian Citrus Holdings has reported that the Typhoon Kai-Tak has not made any material damage to the orange trees in the Hepu plantation in China.

The typhoon hit the Hepu county of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region last week.

The Chinese orange plantation owner and operator also told investors that it has implemented precautionary counter-measures, including wind breaks planted around the Hepu plantation.

The wind breaks are designed to protect the orange trees inside the plantation from typhoons and other adverse weather conditions.

Back in July, the group told investors that it expected to report turnover of RMB 1.41 billion (£141 million) for the year to end June – marking a significant increase from the period year. Orange production for the year increased 12.2 percent.

Net profits and cash generated from operations are expected to be slightly ahead of the prior year at RMB560.6 million (£56.1 million) and RMB617.2 million (£61.8 million) respectively.
