Celtic Cooling build large cold store for Ethiopian Airlines Enterprise
Celtic Cooling will shortly start building a coldstore of more than 3,500 m2 on instructions from Ethiopian Airlines Enterprise at the Addis Ababa Ethiopia airport. This is both for local growers, the government and customers in the Netherlands an enormous relief. The airport has had airport has a storage capacity for cooled export of flowers, vegetables and fruit for years and is because of that an important logistic bottleneck for the export of these products. The cold store can store the freight of three complete cargo aircraft, is cooled completely down to +2C and is provided with a modern handling system for airfreight.
For Celtic Cooling this is an important project; normally they ship the material from a project like this in 40 sea-going containers to the country of destination. This time the complete cold store is flown to Addis Ababa, as the cargo department of Ethiopian Airlines want to use the cold store with effect from January 2013. Building an entirely new freight terminal is on the program for three of four years hence. More than 1,5 million Euro is involved in this investment.
Celtic Cooling are experienced in the designing and installation of made-to-measure cold stores and freezers, cold-installations, airconditioning systems and turnkey projects for all kinds of purposes. The company have been active in Ethiopia for ten years and have established their own office because of the service point of view.
