Netto Marken-Discount supports growers

The German discounter Netto Marken-Discount is supporting the sales of food from their own brands "Ein Herz für Erzeuger` farmers from Germany. Articles in this range are sold with a supplement of ten cents. 100 percent of this supplement goes to the produce. Under this initiative, the sustainable food discounter and his clients paid more than 3.5 million Euro to German farmers.



Netto Marken-Discount is aware of its social responsibility and aligns its procurement guidelines, it also decides on sustainability aspects. With its regional assortment the discounter supports the middle size and family businesses in Germany. This sustainable range forming Marken-Discount Net has beefed up the "Ein Herz für Erzeuger` range. "Supporting farmers national and regional companies is part of our corporate culture. For this reason we started with the initiative "Ein Herz für Erzeuger` in 2008 and we have expanded our partnership with German farmers," said Franz Pröls, director of Netto Marken-Discount.
