Aldi Nord recalls pears

Aldi Nord recalls the 'Packham's Triumph' pears from Argentina, which were sold in week 19. The reason for the recall was a suspicion of too many pesticides. The pears were sold in 1 kilo bags and it is suspected that the pears had too high values of carbendazim.

The recall is purely a precaution. There is no immediate health hazard according to Aldi Nord and the Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety (Bundesamt für und Verbraucherschutz Lebensmittelsicherheit). Customers are asked to take the pears back back to the Aldi supermarket. The purchase price will be refunded.
