Attention for Dutch Conference pear

Germany: Conference pear has own 'Birnenbrand'

In the week of 24 April about 200 buyers and sellers at German supermarkets received a pleasant surprise. A small luxury wooden box containing a special bottle 'Birnenbrand' (a kind of 'pear gin'). In the bottle a Dutch Conference pear could be seen. The special bottle with its own Conference Birnen label comes together with two Conference pears and an information label. A green variety with a label 'Knackig firsch' and a light yellow variety with label 'Mild-süß'. Retail trade press editors also receive the same wooden case 'Birnenbrand'.

With this action attention is drawn to the Dutch Conference pear. The good storage quality of Conference is one of the advantages of this popular pear. But also the various uses of the Conference pear are brought to the attention of the German retail and press. 




Attention in the trade and online media
Also in the German trade press and online media is attention for the Dutch Conference pear. In Fruchthandel Magazine three articles were published recently with accompanying adverts. moving banners on www.fruchthandel.de and
www.fruchtportal.de draw the attention of visitors. But also in the digital newsletter of these organisations moving banners suggest to readers to obtain more information about the popular pear. These actions will run till the end of May on online media.
 
Campaign Conference Birne
Under the title 'ich esse meine Confrence Birne – knackig frisch oder mild-süß'
('I eat my Conference pear fresh, mild and sweet') this spring the German retailers and the trade press are informed about the advantages of the Dutch Conference pears. Especially in spring as well the Dutch Conference pear is ideal for selling. This spring offensive is executed by GroentenFruit Bureau in cooperation with NFO Fruit and is financed by Productschap Tuinbouw.
