Costa Rica exports grew 10% in the first two months
Costa Rican exports grew 10.5% in the cumulative from January to February of this year, regarding the same period of last year, according to the External Commerce Promoter (Promotora del Comercio Exterior - Procomer).
In those two months, the goods sales value to the exterior reached $1,710 millions, according to Procomer.
A report from the organization detailed that exports in the free zones regime grew from $782 millions from January to February 2011 to $845 millions in the two months period of this year. The increase was of 8%.
As for the definitive regime (companies that are not in free zones) managed to increase exports by $836 millions in the first two months of 2011, representing 12.4% more than the $743 millions in the same period of this year.
A 7% raise in the agricultural sector.
The agricultural sector got important results in products like coffee (31.6%), pineapple (26.7%), melon (27.9%) and decorative plants (92%).
