Spain: A 12% growth in spring watermelon cultivation
As of December, some greenhouses in Almeria developed the cultivation of watermelon. The preparation for the Spring campaign started a little earlier this year and despite the cold slowing down the plantations evolution, as pointed out by Andrés Góngora, provincial secretary for Coag-Almería, it's expected that, "that factor doesn't slow down that much the begin of harvesting, expected for the first days of April".
