Colombia: Piel de Sapo melon going global

Silently, but with effectiveness, Piel de Sapo melons, grown in Valledupar , is spreading throughout the globe with monthly exports from Cesar, Colombia.

This variety, is working on the exports to the United States, Canada and Spain, assuring they surpass the million dollars per year.

According to information from the office of the Cooperation and Development Alliance from the Commerce Chamber of Valledupar, taking advantage of the commercial window in Europe, the exports reach 800 tons harvested in the 36 hectares developed within the project boosted by Agricaribe in cooperation with the Spanish companies Nufri and Tastam.
