Lots of snow is good for mushroom consumption
Supply looks tight too though
Mountain View grows four types of mushrooms indoors including portabella, oyster, white and crimini mushrooms indoors. And Barney says that supply of the mushrooms is equally tight. “It’s been that way for quite awhile—although supply is actually better than it was around this time of year,” she says. “Some of the Canadian growers are doing better than they were last year.”
Looking ahead over the next few weeks, Barney sees little change coming until Easter. “Demand easily falls off after Easter and then gets slower until Labour Day,” she says. “It’ll be tight until then but that’s when it usually starts to slow up a little because the ski resorts start closing.”
