Lighter, more accurate and with rechargeable batteries

"Provide your grape harvesters with modern weighing scales"

"Grape harvesters would certainly work faster, more productively and with much less strain, if such operations were simplified by lightweight, intuitive, space-saving and user-friendly scales when moving around the vineyard. The working conditions of your employees will be improved, and you will contribute to limiting the severe shortage of labour that has been affecting the agricultural sector for years now,” says Giuseppe Rescina, inventor of the Karmen Field Scale, already patented and used in Italy, Europe and other non-EU production areas.

The Karmen Scale, which can be attached to any type of tripod or counter, makes it easier to pack grapes directly in the field. "I have been selling scales since 1999," continues Rescina, "I have seen the market evolve, albeit very slowly. Now that the seasonal employee crisis has become a serious problem, the number of companies interested in this professional equipment has increased.

Compared to the 2022 version, the Apulian manufacturer has made some changes not only to the structure of the scale and the type of power supply, but also to its accuracy in measuring.

"We have been able to reduce the overall weight of the scale by 200 g by also making the lower body in aluminium and no longer in steel. This made it possible to lighten Karmen from 3.2 to 3 kg. This may seem a small change, but not for those who have to constantly move the equipment in the fields. Another new feature is the increased accuracy, thanks to the replacement of the 4 load cells with a highly reliable central unit, which ensures the detection of even the smallest packaging formats. Furthermore, the restyling includes the possibility of using rechargeable batteries and not just disposable ones, which in any case guaranteed an autonomy of over 100 hours of work".
