Georgian growers exported $2.5 million worth of apples

From August 1 to December 26, 3.800 tons of apples worth $2.5 million were exported from Georgia. Almost all of these apples were exported to Russia (3,787 tons). Another 5 tons were exported to Armenia. The Georgian government has helped farmers sell the harvest of non-standard apples at fixed prices this year, as it did last year. The state subsidy program for enterprises purchasing non-standard apples from farmers ended on December 15. Within the framework of the program, the enterprises processed more than 35,000 tons of non-standard apples.
