France: a medical student operates on fruit and vegetables on TikTok

In the French city of Grenoble, Robin Goncet, a 6th-year medical student performs surgeries on fruit and vegetables and posts the videos on his “Fruiturgie” TikTok account.

The idea came to him during last year’s first lockdown. As he was practicing on a fruit, he decided to film himself and post the video of his first patient, Samuel the banana, on TikTok. “I found this discrepancy between the glove, the scalpel and the fruit that has nothing to do on an operating table funny and very burlesque. It makes no sense, and that’s exactly what I like about it.”

And he does not stop there since his 245,000 followers can see him operate on ginger, an orange and even a zucchini.
