Chilean fresh fruit exports have increased by 9% in the 2020-2021 season so far

So far in the 2020-2021 season (based on data from the Association of Fruit Exporters of Chile AG (ASOEX) from 09/03/2020 to 01/02/2021), Chilean fresh fruit exports have increased by 8.96% over the same period of the previous year.

Chile has exported 843,671 tons of fresh fruits. The main destination markets so far are the Far East, with 46.7% of all exports to date, the United States with 24.10%, Latin America with 14.1%, Europe with 13.5%, Canada with 1.3%, and the Middle East with 0.2%.

In main destinations in the Far East are China with 90.9%, South Korea with 3.6%, and Taiwan with 2.1%. The most outstanding destinations in Latin America are Colombia with 20.4% of the total, Brazil with 19.5%, and Ecuador with 13.3%. The Netherlands is the main destination in Europe with 55.2% of the total. It is followed by England with 23.8% and Spain with 7.8%.

To date, the main species exported are cherries (which accounts for 41.3% of the total volume of fresh fruits shipped), blueberries (11.6%), apples (8.3%), avocados (8.2 %), and table grapes (8%).
