Sales company hires industry expert Michael Büser

Change of managing director at Obst vom Bodensee

On 01.09.2020, Michael Büser (right) will take over the Obst vom Bodensee management. He will succeed Johannes von Eerde, who announced a new career path at the beginning of the year. With 30 years of professional experience in the fruit and vegetable sector, both on the producer and the buyer side, Michael Büser has extensive knowledge of the industry and he possesses a strong network in the German food retail landscape.

Just in time for the start of the new marketing season, Büser, who is currently managing director of Bivano LLC (an organic services subsidiary of the Böhmer Group), will move to Lake Constance. Previously, Büser was Managing Director of Eurogroup Deutschland and Doego Fruchthandel und Import e.G. Until the time he will join the company, Nico Grundler and Dr. Christian Rothfuss, representing the shareholders VEBO-Frucht-Verkaufsgemeinschaft and BayWa AG, will jointly take over the management tasks for the time being.

With his excellent relations with the trade, Büser will further strengthen and strategically develop OvB's position as a reliable, efficient partner and experienced marketing body for the cooperatively organised producers in the catchment areas of Lake Constance and the Neckar.

Creative and innovative solutions
Experience, tradition and innovation characterize fruit growing in Southern Germany, which has a long history due to its preferred climatic conditions. With Büser, OvB gets an experienced companion, even on new paths, who is ready to meet the challenges of the times. "The changes our industry is facing offer extensive opportunities for creative and innovative solutions. I look forward to using these opportunities for the successful further development of OvB," says Büser regarding his new tasks and OvB's future prospects.

He is focusing on the further development of the attractive, modern and innovative product range, the strengthening of domestic production and the expansion of the organic segment. "In the almost 25 years of its existence, OvB has very successfully established itself as an experienced and efficient partner of the retail trade. I would like to continue to build on this in order to give our affiliated farmers and thus domestic production a perspective," Büser continued.

The fact that the Lake Constance region with its unique climatic advantages is not only ideal for apple production but also for living, has also convinced the Von Büser family. They will move with him to Lake Constance, underlining Büser's commitment to the region and OvB. All that can be said is: Welcome to Germany's southernmost apple-growing region, welcome to the Bodensee!
